Passengers on a BC Ferries ship were fearing for their lives when the vessel was caught in a storm and faced waves reaching seven to 10 meters (which must be, like, 100 feet, or something).
The Northern Adventure was on a seven-hour trip from Prince Rupert to Skidegate in the Queen Charlotte Islands on Monday morning when the trouble began. Passengers told the CBC they were tossed from their seats and cafeteria dishes went flying as the ship listed.
They were quick to blame the captain for setting sail when forecasts called for very high winds.
“Smart people don’t go out in that kind of weather,” said Wilson Brown, an experienced local fisherman who was on the boat and had, therefore, gone out in that kind of weather.
The ship turned around and docked back in Prince Rupert. No injuries were reported.
