Nelly Tops List of Olympics Acts

Nelly_Furtado595The list of headliners for each night’s concert following the medal presentations at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics was released this week and it’s heavy on Canadian acts, including Nelly Furtado kicking off the series on Sunday, Feb. 14.

Other Canadian favorites, including Barenaked Ladies, Hedley and Loverboy (yes, Loverboy!), are on the list. Also headlining a night is INXS, but it isn’t clear whether Ontario-born frontman J.D. Fortune will be with the band. INXS is releasing a new album filled with guest singers in 2010 and a spokeswoman for the band would not confirm to The Canadian Press whether Fortune is included. (Update: This corrects my previous speculation that Fortune would perform).

Each night will highlight a Canadian province and, in some cases, the headline act is from that province. The list released says the headliner on Monday, Feb. 15, which is Quebec night, is “to be confirmed.”

May we suggest Voivod? Arcade Fire? Corey Hart?

  1. Tattoos are as exclusive as the particular individual sporting them. there are many citizens existing in a world where tattoo as a type of art is not socially relevant, particularly in commercial offices or a work place.
