Neil Young’s ‘Pants on the Ground’

JimmyFallon595Never one to miss a trend, legendary Canadian rocker Neil Young has offered up his cover version of Gen. Larry Platt’s instant hit, “Pants on the Ground.”

In case you missed it, the “American Idol” auditions in Atlanta took a bizarre but socially conscious turn on Wednesday night when the 62-year-old Vietnam War veteran closed the show with his original song, which encouraged urban youth to buy belts.

Young, in the form of “Late Night” host Jimmy Fallon, offers his take here.

Warning: it’s moving.
