Among the cancellations recently announced on the “American Idols Live 2010″ tour were the only two dates north of the border, in Winnipeg on Sept. 7 and Toronto on Sept. 9.

And just as I was about to write, “There’s always ‘Canadian Idol,’” I did a bit of research and discovered that “Canadian Idol” hasn’t aired since 2008.

According to Wikipedia (COTW’s most trusted source for information), the show was “suspended” in 2009 because of the economic climate (weren’t reality shows supposed to be cheaper to produce?). But Wikipedia further reports that auditions that are normally held in the spring haven’t happened, which is leading to speculation that the show’s run is over after six seasons.

So, you know, so much for that…
