With respect to the sadness and plight of a young black bear spotted on Lambert Island near Thunder Bay, Ontario, recently, Bear Watch 2010 goes down as one of the reasons we love Canada.

A young black bear was seen with its head stuck in a jar a couple of weeks ago, and it’s been big news since. It lead Thunder Bay’s local TV news (as you’ll see below), and the story was among the Top 10 most commented upon on CBC.ca.

The jar seems to have been removed from the bear’s head, but there are theories as to how it came off that would determine varying degrees of happiness or sadness to the end of the story. Just ponder that one for a moment.
