If the folks at Viacom are paying attention, BET Canada should be coming to your television soon.
The nominations for the 2010 BET Awards came out Wednesday and were more or less dominated by Canadians.
Toronto’s Drake, a relative newcomer to the rap scene, led all nominees with six nominations — four of his own and two as a member of Young Money.
But the biggest buzz of the day has been the inclusion of 16-year-old Justin Bieber, who grabbed a nom for Best New Artist, setting off a flurry of Internet commentary about a white kid being nominated for a BET Award (nevermind the fact that Eminem, Justin Timberlake and Robin Thicke have all been up for a BET Award).
Still, it’s big news for the, ahem, Great White North.
Melanie Fiona completes the threesome of Canadian contenders for the Best New Artist Award (Bieber and Drake, as part of Young Money, are the other two).

Hang on to your picnic baskets! Ottawa native Dan Aykroyd is about to become one of America’s most famous national park residents.
